Nexus emerged from the waters, into a large cavern. It was pitch black, but luckily he had brought a flashlight. He swept its rays across the cavern enough to take it in; large, circular room, with a hole in the middle leading back underwater. Pathways branched off everywhere, leading to who knows where. And everywhere, there was foliage; special plants, that could grow in areas like this. However, Nexus was looking for a specific type of plant.
Marzen, his employer, had sent him on a mission into these caverns, in the hope that he could find an extremely rare plant; The Alico Bluebud, which was said to be extinct. Marzen thought otherwise, and told Nexus to go explore. Apparently, the Bluebud had a special sap that Marzen could use for some new elixer. Nexus didn't understand it, nor did he really care.
So, he had drawn up some swimming gear, and had reached the inner room. Now all he had to do was find the plant. He wished he could just DRAW it, but unfortunately, that wouldn't work right; it wouldn't be an actual Bluebud, just a replica, and wouldn't have the same properties. Sighing, he walked down a random path.

She uttered a curse as she fell down, the product of tripping over yet another rock. Yume growled in frustration, banging her fists on the ground. That stupid rock would pay!
As it turned out, the rock was flattened by the impact. Not satisfied, Yume kicked the remains of it away, hands on her hips as she looked on smugly. Seconds later, she finally turned around and continued on. She didn't really like being in such a dark place. It didn't supply her with any kind of light and it made her feel vulnerable. Her magick would be undoubtedly be weaker in this dingy cave.
"All to just have a look around.... Damn curiosity," Yume murmured to herself. She ran a hand through her hair, sighing. It was only a few seconds before she came upon another being. "Hm?" What was he doing here?

Nexus stopped dead in his tracks at the site of Yume, and pointed the flashlight right at her. He slowly took off his diving helmet, and flung it away. It faded into nothingness, as he shook his head, forcing his hair back into its normal place. Finally, he turned to Yume, and asked politely, "Hello, Madame... Who might you be?"

While she enjoyed the light, it was right in her eyesight. Wincing, she moved a little to accomadate her sight a little. She blinked a little before looking again to the other being in the cave. He was a little shorter than her, but he seemed well mannered. She smiled and decided to follow along.
"Hello, good sir," she bowed, "my name is Yume. It's a pleasure to meet you." She offered a little smile, hoping she wasn't wrong in her opinion of him. If she was...well, it would be bad to fight in close quarters. Yume nodded to the thing - it had looked like a helmet - that he had cast away. "You came through the water route?"

"My name is Nexus, pleased to make your acquaintance..." He looked around, and said, "I was under the assumption that the water route was the only way in... seems I was wrong." Suddenly, he was struck with a thought. "Excuse me madam, but perhaps you could help me out; I am looking for something in these caves, you might have seen it."

Yume looked away before he could notice the light tint in her cheeks.
"N-no, you're correct, Mr. Nexus: there are only water routes into this cave. I...I created my own way in. I dare say it's probably blocked off by now...." There. That was better than telling him she had blasted a hole to get in, an attempt to not get wet.
"Ano," she replied after his inquery, a finger on her cheek as she tilted her head, "I saw a lot of things while coming down this way. I might be of help. But first, while it's fun and all, will you not stop addressing me as 'madam'? It makes me feel old...."

The edges of Nexus' mouth tweaked into a smile, but he went back to his polite self, and bowed slightly. "Understandable, Miss Yume... Or just Yume?"
Without waiting for an answer, he spread the light throughout the cavern. "I am looking for a specific plant, known as a Bluebud. It only grows here, and is apparently characterized by its beautiful, large blue flowers that glow in the dark."

She waved it off: "Whichever makes you comfortable. My only concern was the 'madam' part."
Yume crossed her arms, thiking about what he described. She had seen a few interesting species of plants as she walked along. Her favorite had been the silver flower with the star shaped leaves. But as for what he described.... She began to pace a little, a habit of hers that happed when she thought.
"Ah!" she snapped her fingers. "I remember. Yeah~ it was a curious flower." She pointed to the way she had come from. "It was really early on when I saw it, so it took me a while to remember. But it's definitely here!"

Nexus smiled, and said, Thank you, Miss Yume."
He began to walk down the way that she had pointed, but noticed that it branched off into at least a dozen different paths. "Err, not to be a bother, but where exactly did you find the Bluebud?"

She had merely smiled as he passed her.
Seeing him beginning to continue on his quest, Yume began to walk in another direction, letting her curiosity lead, but careful to not trip again. She had only just begun to inspect a possible trouble when he had called out. She chuckled softly and retraced her steps until she was again by him.
"Hmn, pretty sure I came from that way," she gestured to the left. "As for which one...." Huh. That was actually a pretty good question. She crossed her arms. She definitely had come from the left. Was it the path second from the left most path or the third, though.... "We might have a problem," she confessed hesitantly.
