November 4th, 2008. Kal-El, better known by his superheroic alias Superman, is elected President of the United States, with his running mate Steve Rogers, alias Captain America, assuming the responsibilities of Vice President. The duo, running under the Democratic ticket, beat out Republican nominees Lex Luthor and Norman Osborn. For the first time in history, a non-national became President - but even more astounding, it was the first time an extraterrestrial was elected President.
Now, it's one year later, and the United States is facing its share of hardships. Following their defeat, Luthor and Osborn fled to Modora, where in a short time they were able to conquer and assume control of the small Balkan nation. Thanks to their shared wealth and shrewd intellects, Modora became a superpower almost overnight - and it most certainly helped that their national army is composed of known supervillains. Modora's economic and military power have led to a new Cold War for the United States, with Latveria acting as a neutral country aiding both sides of the covert conflict. It seems like it's only a matter of time until Modora and the United States will inevitably engage in all-out war. Some have fled to countries such as the United Kingdom and Canada in the threat of the inevitable, while others are now choosing their side.
Is it too late to prevent the inevitable? Or can truth and justice prevail once more?
