He was bold to even think about doing such a stunt in broad daylight. The pickings were slim, and what was actually worth stealing was under lock and key. He may be good at picking locks, but it still took time. And, usually while he was working on a lock, someone would come around and ruin his fun. But, the security was low here, as it always was. Plus, no one would suspect a fox.
Kurama, currently in his fox form, padded confidently through the port. For the most part, he was ignored, even though it was probably a rare sight to see a blue-silver fox with five tails wandering around. Then again, such creatures were a bit more common in this area since there were so many different kinds of races coming and going in this port. It barely mattered, though.
His keen eyes observed his surroundings carefully, wondering where he should strike. He planned to cause a little mischief, and while everyone was confused, he would make off with a valuable collectible or two.
The fox hopped onto an unattended ship, unnoticed, and stealthily climbed his way to the sail. With a little kitsune magic, he lit fire to it then leaped away and hid himself behind some empty barrels, watching and waiting. It took but a moment for the fire to become noticed, but by then, almost half the sail had been burned. There were several startled shouts and a rush to put the fire out.
While everyones attention was held by his fire, he slid out from behind the barrels and exited the ship. The people in the immediate area had left their posts. The fox estimated that he had only a few minutes to find himself something worth his time.
He shifted back to his original, youkai form. Silver hair, golden eyes, fox ears and tail, and white clothes. Kurama briefly glanced over to the mayhem he had caused, just to make sure he had still gone unnoticed. He was satisfied with what he saw. They were busy trying to put the fire out. Though, it would not be smothered so easily since it was powered by kitsune magic.
The first crate he came to, he pried open and happily rummaged through it. It held cheaply made jewelry. But, he took some anyway. He could still sell it, it was easy to con people into believing that what they were buying was worth much more than they appeared. After tucking some of the gems into his shirt, he went on to find something else to sort through. But-
There was a yell. Someone had spotted him! Kurama looked around to see a burly guard rushing towards him. With a smirk, he tipped the nearest pile of crates over and made his escape while the guard was struggling with the crate avalanche. Merchandise spilled out of some of them, but nothing caught the thief's eye, so he ignored it and disappeared out of sight.
He found an alleyway and ducked into it, peering around the corner to see if anyone had pursued him. Nothing. Kurama chuckled to himself and relaxed, sliding down the wall to sit on the ground. He pulled out one of the gems he had stolen and inspected it, wondering if he should try to polish it to make it appear more real and valuable before he attempted to sell them.

Oh dear, what was she doing here again? The girl couldn't seem to remember. Her tail flickered back and forth in annoyance. This really was a problem. Why did she have to be so forgetful all of the time? Father had sent her here for some reason, maybe to pick up some goods. Right, that as all she could remember. Yet, there was so many people and places here that she didn't know who she was supposed to go to. That in itself was very frustrating for the young girl. How was she supposed to deal with this?
Her black and red layers ears fell back slightly in disappointment. Father wouldn't be to happy with her. Oh well, it seemed like now he would just have to get over it, right? She was about to turn around and go back home until she had caught sight of something, no someone. He was taller than she was, obviously, had those sunlit golden eyes, that glorious silver hair, and such fine skin. Not to mention those ears and tail! Finally, maybe someone or something that could entertain her in this place. Her mind was to distracted now to concentrate.
She'd followed him, silently. Not daring to make a move, watching as he stole, tipped crates to stop the man that had seen him, and then run off. So he was thief! That made things even more interesting. He surely didn't look like someone that would need to go around and steal in her eyes. So just what was he up to then? She had to know so Raveik followed him back toward the alley, taking her place upon the buildings so that she wouldn't be seen by him. When should she introduce herself? A hard choice.
The girl bit down on her lip to stop herself from giggling when the fox demon had looked around the corner to see if anyone had been following him. How funny! He didn't even bother to look up. Well, then again he must have not sensed her or something. That gave her a bigger ego, thinking that she was some super ninja or something now. Of course, she wouldn't know how to be a real ninja even if her life depended on it. That was just out of the question for now. Maybe one day she'd try.
When the fox demon had pulled out the jewels to look at them, she gave him a minute. She figured he wanted to take pride in himself for doing such a fabulous job in stealing. Finally, she jumped back down and landed in front of him with a fanged grin on her face. Her teal-sky blue eyes looked back into his golden ones. 'Marvelous,' she thought to herself. Though she had a different matter at her right now though. She had to go and lecture him some just because she felt like it and it would be fun now.
"You know, you really shouldn't be going around stealing stuff. People won't want to be your friend," she said winking at him and sticking her tongue out in a childish manner. The vampire wolf hybrid then blinked as she leaned forward some, taking a closer look at the gem that he had. "You really think this is worth stealing anyway?" She looked back up at him through red black bangs. "You're so silly," she said then poking him on the nose. "My name's Raveik Fevera. Tell me your name and we won't be strangers anymore."

Kurama froze when the girl dropped down in front of him, thinking he had been caught and cornered. But, wait. This girl had no malicious intent, at least none that he could sense. He blinked in surprise at her sudden appearance, unsure of what to make of it.
The kitsune youkai regarded her intently, listening to her playful words. He deemed her to not be a threat of any kind. He did not think she was just putting on an act just to catch him off guard and turn him in to the authorities. Besides, he was always able to get away before that happened. He kept his guard up, though, and played along. He kept his posture relaxed and carefree. If this really was a trick, which he doubted but he was cautious anyway, he wanted to be the one to do the fooling.
He then offered her a charming smile. With a flourish, he was on his feet and bowing deeply to the girl, as if greeting royalty. He had discreetly tucked the gem he was inspecting away from sight.
"My apologies, M'Lady," he said smoothly. "I am Youko Kurama. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance," he continued formally, a rose suddenly in his hand as he held it before him and presented it for Raveik, watching her with cold, yet laughing golden eyes.

When he bowed down to her, she rose a brow at him for a second. How fun, he was going to try and be nice! Oh he would surely jeep her entertained for a while if he stuck around. Not that she couldn't follow him. "Youko Kurama," she said repeating his name so she wouldn't forget. Someone how name rolled off the tip of her tongue just right. She liked the sound of it and kept her smile, those pearl white fangs giving off a gleam in the faint light that wasn't blacked out in the alley.
Raveik looked back down into those cold sunlit orbs. She giggled as she took the rose from him. "How sweet of you to want to show this rose how incredibly beautiful I am." Of course she was joking around. She held onto it, careful not to pierce any part of it with those harmful claws of hers. That wouldn't be any good now would it? She had a respect for nature and the plants that it had to offer. This rose was just one of the beauties around. She sniffed the air lightly, taking in its wonderful scent then.
Shifting her attention away from the rose now, she eyed him carefully. Making eye contact when she spoke to someone made her feel better because then someone knew they really had her attention. "Now now, Youko Kurama, why must you go steal," she asked. "Maybe I should go turn you in... thought that would be no fun." She gently reached up with her free hand to brush some stray strands of hair from her eyes before looking at him again. Her ears went alert and her tail flicking up behind her. "Hmm... What would you do if I tried though?"

He bared his own fangs in a sly grin, amused. He was amused further, by her reaction to his gift. The rose was just flattery to distract her, which was what he always started with when confronted by a female of any kind.
"Ah, but all the fun is in theft, my dear lady," he said. True, he had been a rouge all his life, so theft was all he knew. But it was exciting and fun to him. The rush of adrenaline, the feeling of satisfaction when a mission was accomplished, the amusement of pawning off some worthless item for a large sum of money. He enjoyed his life and would not have it any other way. Sometimes, though, he would wonder what it would have been like if his parents had kept him instead of abandoning him. It was a curious thought that he always pondered when he was bored and had nothing else to do.
If she was going to tease him about his habits, then so be it. As if he would let just anyone come up to him and try to take him down and turn him in. "Is that a threat?" he asked jokingly.

That same smile stayed on her face as she looked at him. "A threat? Of course not, love. I'd never threaten you," she said innocently. She didn't threaten any one anyway unless they were a threat to her life. She saw no such signs coming from Kurama. Even if she did she wouldn't have followed him in the first place unless she was looking for a fight to get her own adrenaline rush. There would be no fun in putting her life at risk right now though. That was just out of the question and stupid too.
"You never told me what it was you'd do if I tried to turn you in though. So I'll assume it'd be nothing," she said feeding her own ego. The werewolf vampire then wrapped her ringed tail around her body to keep warm a bit. She'd forgotten how cold it could get outside sometimes. Glancing back at the rose again, she smirked at its color. Red like the blood that the vampire in her craved. She wouldn't give into it ever. Blood was supplied from her werewolf diet. "What else is it you steal, sir?"

Never threaten him? They had just met, how would she know that he would never do something that would cause threats and perhaps insults? He could be quite unpredictable at times, such a trait helped his roguish ways and made it all the more difficult to catch him.
Kurama chuckled. Of course he would do something if she had tried to turn him in. He just would not say what. He would let her assume whatever she wanted. He preferred to stay mysterious, anyway. Although he held a very relaxed posture, he was on guard and being cautious. If he told her what he would do, then she would know what to expect and that would just not be any fun.
"What else do I steal, you ask?" he asked with an amused smirk on his face. "I steal many things. Mostly the beautiful and the valuable, such as the hearts of young maidens such as yourself," he said simply, turning on his charm.

Oh she was just so glad that she had taken the time to follow this Youko Kurama as he called himself. He was to funny for his own good in her eyes. She liked it though because it entrained her and that was what she sought in life being an adventurer. There were always new things around the corner waiting to be discovered. Her ears flickered slightly when she heard his words. The clinging of her ear rings could faintly be heard caused by the sudden movement. "Hearts," she questioned, allowing the words to almost come out in a whisper.
Raveik then held both of her hands up hands up near her heart, the rose still in her grasp. "I don't even think the great Youko Kurama could steal this heart," she said, her voice sweet like honey and holding a slight velvety tone to it. "If he did then I really would have no choice but to turn him in, would I? That would be only if I could get this heart back first." Her last words came out in a lyrical tone. She wasn't sure herself if she was really challenging him or not. It was fun.

"Awww! Look at this mess..."
Nocina was attracted to the mass of sailors and pedestrians trying to put out a fire that has arisen on a nearby ship. The sail was completely in flames by now, and other parts of the boat was starting to catch on fire. She approached, and from a little ways off, waved her hand vertically. A gale arose and shot through the shipyard, extinguishing the slammer flames. As the same time, she froze the massive flames of the main sail. When the wind came by, the flames themselves shattered, and she diverted the ice safely into the harbor. All that remained of the inferno was a few burnt rags of a sail and some scorched wood.
As the pieces of frozen fire fell, one swirled away from the others and landed in Nocina's hand.
Interesting...the flames were magically created. With this sample, I should be able to find out where the cause of all this fled to. It would be a worthwhile encounter.
She held the shard of fire in front of her, where is started to hover. Nocina closed her eyes and muttered a quick enchantation, and the shard began to glow with a soft, while light. Then, it spun and pointed to an alleyway...

Kurama offered the girl another of his charming smiles, completely amused. "Well, Miss Raveik Fevera, I might just have to take you up on that little challenge," he said teasingly. It was rare to meet a girl who was not blushing madly at his words and becoming flustered by his actions by now.
"But," he continued in tone that suggested he was truly saddened by his own words, "Perhaps another time. I have stayed too long, I'm afraid. I must go before someone actually starts to care that there is a thief on the loose," he said in a low voice and in a polite, but joking way with a smile that contradicted his disappointed tone. If not for his cold, calculating golden gaze, he could probably be mistaken for a "nice guy."
With another grand flourish, he gave Raveik another low bow. Once he straightened up, he gently took hold of one of her hands and placed a kiss on the back of it, watching her with amused eyes.

She raised a brow at his words and giggled. Oh he was so funny, thinking that he could just turn around and leave her there. Once something had really caught her eye like this Youko Kurama, she stayed focused. He was more interesting than just going around and picking up things for her father. She still didn't remember that she was supposed to do that. So it didn't really matter to her what she did now anyway. Why not hang out with him a while longer? He just said that he had to go, not that she couldn't come with him.
"Well then I suppose I'll just have to come with you," she said cheerfully when he'd finished speaking and she'd thought it over for a moment. "Maybe I can learn a thing or two about being a thief. I followed you here fast enough without you knowing so it shouldn't be a problem." She'd follow weather he liked it or not. It wasn't like she would get in the way or anything. She could be his little stealing side kick for the rest of the day or something along those lines. Rave couldn't help but smile at the thought.

After the shard pointed in the same direction for a few consecutive seconds, she lightly took it from the air and placed it in her pocket. With magically induced ice, it wasn't going to melt anytime soon.
It's not so much that it stole something as much as it started such an unnatural fire...only other magic was able to put it out. Maybe he could teach her something, she was never really good at fire magic.
She walked in the direction that the shard pointed, to the alleyway. She figured that the thief was going to be on guard, so she lightened her footsteps with air. She approached, and heard some voices. At this, she figured that it would be saver to observe from above. With a quick and silent gust, she flew to the roof of the building and peered down on the couple below.
Some animal-people? I've heard of them, never really seen any before. This really is going to be an interesting encounter!

Kurama dropped Raveik's hand and began to turn to leave, but paused at her words, then laughed, a sly smirk back on his face. "My dear, anyone could sneak up on anyone if their mind is elsewhere," he said, waving away the remark that someone else could best him in stealth. "I am on full alert, now, so you can try again if you like and we shall see who would make the better thief," the kitsune youkai said almost boasting.
He chuckled to himself again, finding this to be highly entertaining. "You may follow, M'lady, but if you can't keep up, I'll leave you behind," he said teasingly, though he was completely serious. A thief could not afford to be hindered in any way.
Still smirking, he lifted his hand and pointed toward the sky, then swiftly and effortlessly leaped up onto the roof of the building where everyone seemed to want to spy on him from. He looked at the girl on the roof with knowing golden eyes as he stood up from his landing crouch. He had already sensed her and knew she was there. "It seems Luck has bestowed me with the presence of two fair maidens in one day," he said, giving the girl a mischievous smile, not at all caring if Raveik was watching.

She liked how he challenged her to keep up. It wouldn't be hard for her at all. She was fast just by training herself on her own. So now she'd have to see if she could keep up with this Youko Kurama she had just now met. Her tail flickered happily and she grinned back at him. "I promise you won't lose me," she happily said. It wasn't hard for her to sense that the other girl was here as well. It was a bit obvious when you got so close to someone else. Her ears pricked up forward and she watched as Kurama then went and jumped up, already leaving her.
The vampire werewolf put the rose in her hair so she'd have more freedom with her hands. She didn't just want to leave it as well. She followed him, right on his tail, landing not to far away from the fox demon up on the roof. She shifted her gaze over to the new girl and then she heard Kurama's statement. she bit down on her tongue to keep herself from saying anything about it though. She was jealous but refused to express it. "Oh! Spying like me, how fun," she said cheerfully instead to the other female.

Apparently, the two Nocina was spying on did very well on masking their knowledge of her presence until they were ready to reveal it. When they unexpectedly jumped up and greeted her, she was startled.
"Aah!" She quickly got to her feet and started to back away, but tripped on a pipe running across the roof and fell backwards. "Ouch..." she muttered to herself, then looked up at the foxlike creature standing over her. He didn't look like he was ready to start a fight. Then she comprehended what he had said to her. When she realized this, there was a slightly surprised look on her face, but only for a second. Then she got up and brushed herself off, pretending not to care, but was obviously blushing a little. She wasn't used to compliments like this...
"Ah, well, luck is on your side today, it seems." she replied. She was very eager to learn about these people, what they were like, what they could do, but wasn't sure where to start without being abrupt. She wasn't very surprised to see his companion follow him to the roof. When she made her remark, Nocina replied "I wasn't spying on you. I was simply waiting for the right moment to reveal myself."

To be honest she couldn't help but snicker when the other female had fallen back. That was just to amusing in her eyes. She was going to have fun with this now because she wasn't the one looking to off today. When Nocina said that she hadn't been spying, she wanted to burst out laughing but held it all locked up inside of her. There was no reason to show that side of her. She really needed to learn how to be nice to people again. Though it wasn't really her fault that Kurama was talking to someone else besides her, right? She had a right.
"Sounds like a cheap way to say that you were spying," she said, walking a bit closer to get a better look at this girl. Her tail flickered back behind her, this time pleased with herself now. Her ears shot forward as she looked on, glancing only back at Kurama for a second. "If you wanted to say hi then you should have just came by and said so in the first place," she then decided to ad on, a fanged smile crossing his features this time. Oh she was having fun with this again. At least she was allowing herself to be expressive around this new person.

Luck, indeed. First, he successfully looted some merchandise that he knew he could sell, and now, he was in the company of seemingly interesting people. Kurama's smile widened at the girl's reaction to his words. It was just something that he did that kept him amused.
"It doesn't matter if you were spying or not," he said, "You just wanted to meet with us, right?" he asked, shifting his gaze to Raveik momentarily, then looking back at the new girl with laughing eyes, "Well, here we are."
He paused as he stepped up to even his position with Raveik so they stood side by side. "Youko Kurama, master thief, at your service," he said to the girl with one of his low bows as an introduction. As long as no one was trying to turn him in, he would be as friendly as his true nature would allow.
He casually put an arm around Raveik's shoulders and leaned on her slightly, as if they were close, long time friends, still smiling his sly smile. But, they had just met, though he knew the girl would not mind. Even if she did, he did not care, he would so whatever he wanted. He was just like that, doing whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. Thus was the way of the thief, free from regulations and obligations.

She couldn't help but snicker when the fox demon had introduced himself as a master thief. Some master thief if even little ol' Raveik could keep up with him so easily. She gave a slight smile to herself at the thought. She really needed a life if she was laughing about something like that. Then again, what didn't she find amusing? Well... besides Kurama talking to someone else besides her. In her eyes that was just annoying all together. Though she would never admit such a thing to him, herself, or anyone else. That was something that she would need to solve on her own. No need to boost his ego too.
Raveik then blinked when he suddenly put his arm around her shoulders. Oddly enough confusion didn't cross her features. She was totally fine with it and her tail flickered back and forth in her approval. She found it odd though that he was all about running off before someone really came to turn him in. Yet then he just stood here and talked to this new girl. Maybe Kurama had some memory loss or something like that. Yeah, she would take that as her answer until she learned more about him. Shifting those teal orbs back to Nocina she waited to see what else the girl had had to said. Obviously she did want something.

After she was done taking everything in, she decided to introduce herself as well. "My name is Nocina. Nocina Wintern, Ice Mage." She wasn't very comfortable with them knowing what she was, but they had the right to know.
She made a quick bow. When she came back up, she held out her hand, then withdrew it to her pocket. She had held out the shard of frozen fire and now it's hovering in midair, between Nocina and Kurama. "Really, I just want to get to know you. I was...interested by the flames you used to scorch the sail of that ship." The ice that contained the flame shattered, and the flame burst forth and extinguished.

He glanced curiously at Raveik, wondering what she could be laughing about, but otherwise ignored it. Not that he cared that his abilities were being doubted. Let them doubt. Doubt led to underestimation, and being underestimated was always a good thing for thief, they would never know what hit them until too late.
Kurama only chuckled. "Hm? That was just kitsune magic," he said nonchalantly, but with a hint of pride in himself. It was rare to see a kitsune, anyway. His eyes shifted to the distance, where he had left a burning ship, "So it was you who saved that ship, then? Too bad," he continued, faking the sound of disappointment.
From this vantage point, he could see no one near enough to attempt to chase after him, but he still wanted to be cautious. With Raveik still under his arm, he moved to the other side of the roof. He paused there and looked back at the girl who introduced herself as Nocina. "Miss Nocina Wintern, I'll gladly accept your company, if you so wish to come along with us," he said, grinning slyly. "I really should be leaving, I'm a wanted man, you know," he added with a chuckle, as if making a joke. Well, it was joke to him. As if he could get caught.
