It’s been two years since fate’s game ended, and the Sorceress Ultimecia was destroyed by the elite SeeD of Garden and one sorceress.
In the time since then, the world is settled down somewhat. Although world peace is a long way off, the dictators of the past are forgotten ghosts and there is a certain calmness in the hearts of the world's people. Galbadia has fallen into the hands of President Fury Caraway, the former Galbadian Army general, who was forced to resign by the Ambassador, Sorceress Edea. When he led the revolution that freed Galbadia, the people and the soldiers put him in control of the country. Currently, he's dealing with Dollet and Timber trying to buck for freedom.
Dollet itself has mobilized troops and through incursions and assaults, have reclaimed some of their lost lands. The cities of Ludenberg and Caerdydd are once more in Dollet possession and the country is no longer a puppet state. Timber has a new hope in the form of the extremist movement the Timber Liberation Army, led by the warlord General Machali. Galbadian troops are attempting to restore order, because pulling out of Timber would leave the country at the mercy of the warlord and his extremist troops.
In the North, Trabia's former mining and excavation outpost, the Damascus Outpost, has blossomed up somewhat with visitors from Esthar joining it, and the multicultural town has grown quite a lot in the past two years. The many tiny isolated villages and towns of the Trabian people have also banked together and formed a coalition in Damascus, which is seeing the beginnings of a unified Trabian nation. The Shumi village is still somewhat secretive, but more welcoming to visitors now.
Trabia Garden has been rebuilt, with the money SeeD made from defeating Ultimecia and numerous other jobs that the various nations have hired SeeD for. Still a premier mercenary force, SeeD has grown and expanded somewhat, thanks to the fame it gained.
Esthar itself has seen it's fair share of trouble. While still more technologically advanced than any other nation, it is dealing with the fact that a Lunar Cry fell right on top of them. With monsters roaming the lower reaches of the city and overtaking the plains, effectively cutting off the megalopolis from it's other cities, the people are living in constant fear, and SeeD are continually rotated in, from every Garden, to help deal with it, bringing extensive funds to the Gardens.
While an uneasy and tentative time of peace (and rearmament), the world is almost at a boiling point.
where do you stand?

Sleeping Lionheart is a post-Final Fantasy VIII role playing site that stretches the boundaries of the canon put in place by Square. Allowing members to make their choices based on world events, the plot will be intuitive and steered by the member base. When you join, you can become a member of one of the three Gardens, strike out on your own or do practically whatever else comes to your mind.
While right now the plot is more background noise, there are going to be many subplots available for people to join, and tailor made experiences for each Garden, as SeeD and students are dispatched on missions, just like in the game. Garden is waiting, all you have to do is prove your worth.
